Taking the Pulse of the Retail Industry Retex has embarked on a new initiative to help better understand the state of the Retail industry as well as find new and innovative ways to make your business more efficient and, as we’ve always done, improve your bottom line. Our first needs assessment was completed and changes have been made as a result (detailed results are below). Now, we need your help to go even further to help every retailer improve efficiencies and your bottom line. Retex plans on conducting survey through 2009 to assess your needs in general as well as for retail specific concerns. We’d like all member participation in this new initiative. Retex surveyed participating members and found some interesting findings: Q: How Frequent are Conferencing Services being used? Majority Response: Daily and/or multiple times a day Q:What do Retailers use Conferencing Services for? Majority Response: Management Team Meetings Q:Types of Conferencing Services Employed? Majority Response: Automation Q:Features Liked Most? Majority Response: Ease of Use/Reliability Q:Suggestions for Better Service? Majority Response: Improved web capabilities Q:Retailers Like Most About Conferencing Services? Majority Response: Pricing, Immediacy of Use, no hidden charges, ease of use. As you can see from the responses above, top on Retailers’ lists are pricing (no hidden charges), immediacy of use and the ease of use. Additionally, a significant amount of respondents wanted a better web conferencing application. Our findings have informed Retex, as well as our partner for Conferencing and Data Communications, Premiere Global, of the needs of the retail industry and improvements have already been made. Premiere Global has just launched a new web conferencing application, Adobe® Acrobat® ConnectTM Professional.
